The leadership of Grace Baptist Church is divided into two offices that of elder and deacon as set forth in I Timothy chapter 3.
The Elders are men charged and commissioned by God to promote and encourage God’s flock in spiritual growth in grace in good times, as well as, in times of suffering and trial. It is a source of delight for all God’s people to see Paul’s exhortation to the Colossians being put into practice “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.” Colossians 3:15
With the desire to see such peace and unity with thanksgiving continue within our church, the elders exhort and encourage each member, to be loyal to the interests of our church, to seek its purity and Godly witness and to do some definite Christian work.
Our Deacons are men in full communion with the church, being sober in life, having a good reputation, and being able to comfort the oppressed, I Timothy 3:8-13. As co-laborers in the work of the church, the deacons assist the elders so that they may devote themselves to prayer and to the ministry of the word, Acts 6:4. Our deacons ‘give comfort to the oppressed’ through our benevolence ministry where physical needs are met and sinners are pointed to the only comforter and savior from sin, the Lord Jesus Christ.
Staff
As with any well run organization it requires a good support staff. We thank God for our staff and their eagerness to support our elders, deacons and church members with our continuing desire to bring honor to the name of Christ.
“Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.” 1 Corinthians 15:58
